Disclaimer
Posts and podcasts provided by this ministry will include reflections on the Scriptures, the traditions and writings of the church, the experiences of followers of Christ in current times, certain helpful discoveries of science, and elements of our own personal journey with Christ.
We acknowledge that whether the content is found on a blog post, podcast, or other means of conveying information, nothing can bring about lasting change and transformation in us, or in those we seek to minister to, independent of the work of the Holy Spirit. Christ alone brings lasting change and transformation. Not any method. Not any person.
This site is not intended to be, and should not be considered a substitute for participation in a local body of believers, the receiving of individual spiritual direction, or the seeking of medical and/or professional mental health treatment when warranted.
We believe that all truth belongs to and originates with God, whether it is special revelation, as communicated through the Old and New Testament Scriptures of the Bible; or general revelation as revealed in accurate and reliable discoveries of science, as a testimony to the wonder and supreme wisdom of God’s created order.
We hold that the Bible, God’s special revelation, remains the ultimate reliable authority above all other sources and points to Jesus Christ as the Way, the Truth, and the Life from Genesis to Revelation.
Some research findings we may reference in certain posts may cite scientists or researchers who may not share a biblical world view, so that we as Christ followers may be in partial or complete disagreement with certain aspects of a particular researcher’s work, findings, values, lifestyle, and earlier or subsequent published works. However, we may nonetheless honor them for their commitment to reduce human suffering and may find merit in the portion of the scientific findings we cite.
Even when sources cited may espouse a biblical world view and their intent might be to faithfully present an accurate treatment of Biblical truth, we believe it is the responsibility of every individual to search the scriptures and determine for themselves, with other trusted believers, and in consideration of the traditions of the faith, and in dependence upon the Holy Spirit, whether what is represented as Biblical truth by anyone, including us, is in fact worthy of being received as God’s truth (see Acts 17:11).
You may find us quoting Christ-followers from many different expressions of the Christian faith. We believe that whether in the free world or in areas that prohibit the proclamation of the good news, God has His witnesses, those who have fallen deeply in love with Jesus and have found in Him the supreme and perfect revelation of the Father’s heart and have surrendered their lives to Jesus Christ, the Way, the Truth, and the Life. For rule, doctrine, and discipline, we have chosen to adopt the 2024 Book of Doctrines & Disciplines of the Global Methodist Church, which was released November 15, 2024, a document that holds high the Holy Scriptures of the Old and New Testament.
With all this in mind, we invite you to consider this admonition from the Apostle Paul: “As a prisoner for the Lord, then, I urge you to live a life worthy of the calling you have received. Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love. Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace. There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called to one hope when you were called; one Lord, one faith, one baptism; one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all”. (Ephesians 4:1-6, NIV).
