Our Director
Stuart A Coleman
CHRIST FOLLOWER
Licensed and ordained pastor
Since surrendering his life to Christ at 17 years of age, Stuart has been committed to exploring possible intersections between the social sciences and biblical faith.
A seminary graduate, Stuart served as a local pastor for 14 years, led a pastoral care and counseling department for 6 and 1/2 years, and served as the director of an international biblical counseling ministry for 3 years before returning to graduate school to earn a second graduate degree in professional counseling, with specializations in trauma therapy and sex therapy. He has also been trained in spiritual direction.
Drawing upon the findings of interpersonal neurobiology, Stuart is convinced that a vital, growing, intimate walk with Christ offers to all the quintessential safe attachment and the supreme foundation upon which all personal transformation into the character of Christ can take place and all personal healing and wholeness can be realized.
Having retired from full-time professional counseling, Stuart now endeavors to help equip followers of Christ to bring an informed, Christ-centered approach to encouragement ministry with the wounded, stressing the importance of every follower of Christ learning to personally entrust their own wounding, shame, guilt and grief into God’s capable care, as a necessary requisite for continuing effective ministry.
Through online forums, web posts, podcasts and in-person training events, Stuart is committed to discipling, equipping, and encouraging followers of Christ to come alongside of the wounded in an informed, redemptive way, offering them true hope, genuine encouragement and a living reminder of Christ’s compassion toward those who, having suffered interpersonal injuries, shame, guilt, and sorrow and have found themselves seemingly unable to get past their pasts.
